The short version

This study is testing whether a mix of three drugs can stop glioma: A tumor that starts in the glial cells. Those are the support cells of the brain and spinal cord. Gliomas are given a grade from 1 to 4. The grade says how the tumor is expected to act. See the glossary from growing after it returns.

What the trial team says

The goal of this clinical trial is to see if the combination of valproic acid, irinotecan, and simvastatin causes these tumors to stabilize or shrink, which is a sign that these combinations are effective against tumors in patients with recurrent glioblastoma and adults with recurrent IDH-mutated gliomas
